Applying for Financial Aid

South Kent School seeks to attract and maintain a diverse student body from a variety of cultural, economic and geographic backgrounds. Financial awards are based on a family's demonstrated need and the availability of funds. The process for applying for financial aid is outlined below.

To be eligible for consideration for financial aid at South Kent School, you must complete your financial aid application and provide the necessary supporting documentation. Documentation must be submitted by February 1 for new students, and admissions will notify returning students by email as to when their documentation is due. (Applications received after February 1 will be evaluated on a rolling basis.)

We will communicate decisions about financial aid along with our admissions decisions. Be sure to indicate on your admissions application that you are applying for financial aid.

South Kent School uses the School and Student Services (SSS) platform to process financial aid applications. SSS is a service of Community Brands. Based on the financial information a family provides, SSS gives the School an estimated amount that each family can contribute to educational expenses. This helps the School make fair and objective financial aid decisions. To begin the financial aid application for the upcoming enrollment year, please follow the steps below:

ONLINE:

  1. As early as October 2, go to School and Student Services.
  2. Click on the prompt to begin the Parents' Financial Statement (PFS). Each family only needs to complete one PFS, even if there are several children from the same family applying to South Kent School.
  3. Each family will be given a username and password that will allow them to return to the PFS at a later date before submitting it. All information will be secure.
  4. Instructions will be provided regarding submitting supporting documents. South Kent School requires the following supporting documents from all families for the current and previous year:
    1. A copy of the most recent and completed tax return
    2. A copy of all W2's
    3. A copy of all year-end pay stubs
    4. Business tax returns for those who own their own businesses

Additional documentation may be required as we evaluate your file.

Please Note: If you apply for financial aid online, your information will be delivered accurately and quickly to South Kent School, allowing the School to make a quicker decision about eligibility for financial aid. Please follow the instructions for uploading the required supporting documents or mailing information to School and Student Services.

Please do not mail supporting documentation to South Kent School as this will delay the process. Please mail to: School and Student Services, P.O. Box 449, Randolph, MA 02368-0449.

For overnight delivery please send to: School and Student Services, Processing Center, 15 Dan Road, Suite 102, Canton, MA 02021.

Tips for International Applicants

Please Note: Meeting all deadlines is an important part of the process. Late information can jeopardize an award. Returning families are required to follow this application process each year. Financial aid is awarded annually and for one year at a time.

Families with Separated or Divorced Parents:

South Kent School requires a completed PFS from both natural parents. In addition, remarriage or cohabitation with another adult by either parent requires all involved adults to follow the same process. An application with only one PFS will be considered incomplete and will delay the process. If a family would like to discuss their particular situation with a School Financial Aid representative, please contact Kathy McCann, Senior Associate Director of Admissions and Financial Aid at [email protected].
